Weston Harvest Guard 65-1001-W vs Pro-2600 65-1301-W

Model comparison · archived Weston external sealers

The Weston Harvest Guard 65-1001-W and Pro-2600 65-1301-W are both earlier external-bag machines, but their controls and published limits are not interchangeable. Choose by the operating sequence you want, not by the “Pro” name or the stainless-looking bodies in old listings. Each exact Weston product record identifies its own SKU and shows RUNOUT; neither article promises new stock. The official Weston archive lists both models.

65-1001-W: seal-time adjustment

The Harvest Guard booklet names Vacuum & Seal, Seal, Vacuum Only/Accessory and Cancel, with a Normal/Extended switch that changes sealing time for thicker bags or bags with moisture. Its original parts list includes ten 8-by-12-inch quart bags, although a used offer may not contain them. The manual says to make bag ends from roll stock by cutting the length yourself. It does not document an integrated cutter or roll-storage compartment, and it does not give a bag-width maximum. For dry or prepared moist solids, this is the simpler of these two control sets; do not treat the seal-time switch as a wet-liquid program.

65-1301-W: choose the seal point yourself

The Pro-2600 manual shows Start, Manual Seal and Stop. Start runs the automatic vacuum sequence; Manual Seal lets an operator begin sealing before the preset vacuum point. The booklet says to use Manual Seal when vacuuming liquids while preventing liquid from entering the port. It does not give a viscosity, fill line or maximum volume, so this is not equivalent to the Wet & Dry 65-1601-W’s separate, marked upright-bag procedure. Weston’s exact product page calls the bar extra-long and extra-wide without a numeric maximum; seller claims of 15 or 16 inches should not become a confirmed spec. The manual also requires at least 20 seconds between cycles, despite its internal fan.

When the choice changes

For an essential manual Pulse button, neither model is established as a match: Harvest Guard has Vacuum Only/Accessory, while the Pro-2600 has Manual Seal, which is a different control. If you need an integrated roll cutter, a confirmed bag width, or uninterrupted batch work, neither exact-source set establishes that requirement. If you want a documented separate liquid cycle, compare the earlier 65-1601-W and the separate 65-1641-W; each has its own bag posture, fill and pause instructions. The finder excludes all three archived configurations unless you opt into earlier models, and it will not let one Weston model supply another’s dimensions or box contents.

See the separate Harvest Guard 65-1001-W assessment and Pro-2600 65-1301-W assessment. Before purchasing any old unit, verify its model label, chamber seals, lid latch, cord and included pieces. For exact bag width, body clearance, or warranty transferability, an unknown specification is a reason to check—not a detail to guess.
